I had been dealing
with two other stores (both actually higher priced for this unit),
and neither of them were able to answer specific questions I had about
this unit, nor could they give me any indications when these units
would be in stock. Staff at both stores made me feel like I was "bothering" them.

an outstanding piece of kit that has already helped us on several

reply from them. They had promised 3 day shipping. I decided to take
a risk and order it from you as well. They phoned me the day after
the unit from you arrived to check my address. I was happy to cancel

If you recall
I purchased the StreetPilot III from you earlier this month. In one
of our phone conversations I mentioned that we were going on a trip
to spend a few days around San Francisco and a week in the Sonoma/Napa
Valleys. We rented a van and I plunked the StreetPilot III on the dash.
The unit is unbelievable. I was very impressed and I basically knew
what to expect. The other 9 members of our group were flabergasted!
They even started calling her "Rosa" as the unit ploted
the route to Santa Rosa and the name stuck for the duration of the
trip. It took us straight to 20 wineries and 9 restaurants. Some restaurants
were found after dark and it would have been very difficult to locate
them, even with a map. I drove around San Francisco like I was a taxi
driver. I think what impressed them most was when we first arrived,
we stopped at a wine warehouse and they were not aware that before
we left the parking lot, I entered the spot as a waypoint. At the end
of our trip when we were 50 miles away from SF and heading back to
the city, they wanted to return to the warehouse and said we'd never
find it. However, "Rosa" took us directly to the parking lot! If you
ever need a testimonial on this exceptional unit, I'm your man.

Art!
I have just returned from a week in the field and wanted to let you know
how pleased I am with my Garmin GPSMAP 76S system. I read the manual, took
a 30 minute street walk with the GPS, and headed into the field the next
day. It is easy to use (no steep learning curve), and I almost always had
3D differential GPS, even under dense forest canopy (DGPS beacon) and within
a BC Hydro transmission corridor (where I switched to WAAS). The backpack
kit is well designed and constructed and is not something I could have
pulled together on my own. It is an excellent product!
The Garmin MapSource program is also easy to use, and my waypoints uploaded
to my PC first time without incident. The Ozzie Explorer I have installed,
but not yet tried - I have requested a georeferenced orthophoto map file
from the cartographic company that does my mapping and will try the software
later this week when it arrives.
I can see that it would also be nice to have an external antenna (with
magnetic mount) and a RAM mount for my truck and plan to add these to my
system.
